What is 3LPE-coated pipe?
The 3LPE coated pipe consists of three layers of pipeline coating
The first layer is composed of fusion-bonded epoxy resin. This prevents corrosion and fuses with the sandblasted steel surface
The second layer is a copolymer adhesive that exhibits excellent chemical bonding with the inner and top layers of polyethylene
The third layer is a polyethylene layer designed to protect the pipeline from any physical damage
3PE can enhance the mechanical properties of pipelines, boasting high electrical resistance, waterproofing, and wear resistance, as well as anti-aging properties. The anti-corrosion coating of the product shines in the following aspects
1. The outer wall is made of high-density cross-linked polyethylene, which has high hardness and wear resistance. The rubber wheel wear test shows that the wear loss is less than 15mg, and the wear loss of the epoxy resin coating on the inner wall is less than 20mg. 2. It can be used under harsh conditions and has a long corrosion resistance lifespan. Heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings can typically be used in chemical, atmospheric, and marine environments for 50 to 70 years. Even in acid, alkali, salt, and solvent media, as well as under certain temperature conditions, it can be used for more than 50 years
3. The coating exhibits excellent weather resistance, anti-aging properties, radiation resistance, wear resistance, impact resistance, high and low temperature resistance, and stable conductivity; its resistivity meets anti-static requirements, ensuring a long service life for the coating
4. Strong Adhesion: The coating exhibits strong bonding with the substrate. The coating composition contains hydroxyl groups (-OH). The metal substrate provides positive ions, which can form chemical bonds. With the aid of the coupling agent in the coating, it can even achieve covalent bonding. Under the maintenance of the spatial network structure, the metal, metal oxide nanomaterials, and rare earth oxide ultrafine powders contained in the coating composition contribute to the formation of a dense interfacial transition layer, ensuring that its comprehensive thermodynamic properties match those of the substrate.
